Gran Kaz Sponsors Child-Friendly Operating Room in Support of Pediatric Patients
Victoria, 17 November 2023 — Gran Kaz, is proud to announce its generous contribution to the "Child-Friendly OT (Operating Room)" project, an initiative aimed at creating a more soothing and relaxed environment for paediatric patients undergoing surgery. The project, spearheaded by Paediatric OT Nurse Noella Mellie, seeks to alleviate the anxiety and fear children experience when heading into the operating room.
Surgery can be a daunting experience for individuals of all ages, and for young children, the fear can be overwhelming. The Child-Friendly OT project is designed to transform the standard operating theatre setting into a less stressful and more welcoming environment for young patients and their families.
At Seychelles Hospital, the dedicated paediatric operating team cares for a maximum of 8 patients per week, which includes emergency cases. Patients are aged between 0-12 years.
Gran Kaz's generous donation to the Child-Friendly OT project includes the following:
Scrubs with cartoon characters
Bed sheets and pillowcases with cartoon characters
Projector with cartoon characters, including installation
